No licence, no exam, no certificate — nothing to apply for and nothing to bring. This drone is under 250 g, the class the EU deliberately keeps simple, and it is registered to me as an LBA operator. What is yours is the flight itself: you fly it as an adult who knows the basic rules, much as you would drive a hire car. I go through those rules at handover, and if anything is unclear before you book, just message me.

Yes — most people who rent from me have not. It holds its position when you let go of the sticks, stops for obstacles, and comes home at the press of a button, and the shots people book it for are one tap each. At handover I show you the kit and go through the rules you need to know. If you want to properly learn to fly it before you take it away, add the first-flight hour when you book — that is the hour where we put it in the air together.

You are responsible for it while it is with you, but it is covered by DJI Care Refresh — accidental damage, water, flyaways. DJI replaces it for a fixed service fee, and you pay that fee rather than the price of a new drone. It comes out of the €400 reservation and I show you the invoice. If it is stolen, or DJI will not cover it, the replacement value of the kit applies instead — €909 for the drone and everything supplied with it, written openly into the terms. Either way you pay the real, documented cost. Nothing on top.

No. It is a reservation, not a payment — your bank sets the amount aside on your card and the money never leaves your account. It is placed on the morning of your pickup day and released the moment I mark the drone returned — usually while you are still standing there. How quickly it then clears from your banking app is up to your bank, and can take a few working days. Only if there is damage or loss do I draw on part of it, and I show you the invoice.

The same rules apply across the EU and EEA: keep it in sight, clear of airports and nature reserves, and never over a crowd. The 120 m ceiling is already set in the drone, so that one looks after itself. Geo-zones change country to country — in Germany the binding map is dipul (maptool-dipul.dfs.de), and you check your exact take-off point before you fly. Outside the EU and EEA, talk to me first: insurance and local law both change.

Usually yes, if nobody has booked after you. Message me at least two hours before your return time — I answer these myself, so the last minute does not work. If the days are free I send you a payment link at the €55 extra-day rate. The moment you pay, the new return date goes into the calendar and the days are yours: same drone, no second reservation, no new paperwork.

Free cancellation up to 48 hours before pickup — full refund, and the reservation on your card released. Inside 48 hours I keep the first rental day and refund the rest, because those dates were held for you. If you simply do not turn up and do not write, the rental is kept. If I ever have to cancel, you get everything back, whenever it happens. Booking online also gives you the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal — §11 has the detail.

What I will not do is tell you it is fine to fly in rain or strong wind. It is not built for it, and the insurance does not cover it.

In Munich — the exact address is in your confirmation email the moment you book. Handover is quick: we check the kit together, take a couple of condition photos, and you are on your way. You pick the hour at checkout, anywhere from 06:00 to 22:00.

If you rent the drone, whatever you film with it is yours and you owe me nothing for it — your own channels, a client campaign, a listing, an advert, all the same to me. Renting as a business is normal here: tick the company box at checkout, add your company name and VAT number, and the invoice is made out to the company. It works differently if you hire me to shoot it: then the footage is mine and the usage rights are part of the quote, so say upfront if it is going into paid advertising.
